These are some of the the stories of the individuals and families we have been honored to support throughout their journey battling pancreatic cancer. Because of the compassion and generosity of our donors and supporters, we have been able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many incredible people in just our first five years.
Our Stories
One family faced an unexpected crisis in the middle of winter when their home’s oil tank suddenly failed. Because their house relied on oil for heat, the situation quickly became urgent, leaving them without a reliable way to keep their home warm during the harsh winter months.
After learning about our mission, they reached out to our organization for help during this difficult time. We were grateful for the opportunity to step in and provide assistance by purchasing a brand-new oil tank and filling it with heating oil. This support helped restore heat to their home and ensured that their family could remain warm, safe, and comfortable throughout the winter.
The financial burden of fighting pancreatic cancer, combined with the everyday cost of living, placed one of our grantees in an incredibly difficult position. They had fallen behind on rent and were facing the threat of eviction. After learning about our mission, they reached out to our organization for support. We were honored to step in and provide critical assistance by covering their overdue rent and paying a couple months in advance—ensuring a total of six months of housing stability and helping restore a sense of security during an extraordinarily challenging time.
During an incredibly challenging time, we were honored to step in and offer support to someone facing the difficult journey of battling pancreatic cancer. The weight of medical treatments, combined with financial limitations and life’s everyday responsibilities, had caused past-due medical bills to accumulate, creating an additional layer of stress during an already overwhelming season.
Through the generosity and compassion of our supporters, we were able to help relieve some of that burden by assisting with those outstanding medical expenses. Our goal is always to provide not only financial help, but also a sense of comfort and reassurance that no one has to face these hardships alone.
A stable home is the foundation for health, security, and hope. When one of our grantees began struggling to keep up with the rising costs of everyday living, even basic household expenses quickly became overwhelming. Monthly bills for housing, electricity, and other essential needs were placing a heavy strain on their ability to maintain stability.
Through the kindness and generosity of our supporters, we were able to provide assistance with these critical household expenses. This support helped ensure that their home remained a safe and secure place during a time when financial pressures could have otherwise created even greater uncertainty.
While courage and determination carried this grantee through the challenges of battling pancreatic cancer, access to a critical medication became an urgent concern. The treatment was essential for their health and well-being, yet the cost created a barrier that added significant stress during an already difficult time.
With the help of our generous community, we were able to step in and cover the cost of this life-sustaining medication for an extended period of time. This support helped ensure they could continue the treatment they needed without the immediate worry of how to afford it.
In addition to financial assistance, we worked closely with the grantee to connect them with other organizations and resources that may be able to provide continued support once our assistance was fully utilized. Our goal is always to help build a pathway of care and support that extends beyond a single moment of help.
